Voucher Examiner

The U.S. Embassy in Santiago, Chile is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Voucher Examiner in the Financial Management Office (FMO).

Basic function of position: The incumbent serves as one of four Voucher Examiners in the Financial Management Office. Prepares and audits payment vouchers for procurement and non-procurement vouchers. Acts as Post’s Alternate Designated Billing Official (DBO) tracking inbound invoices and inputting into ILMS eInvoicing. Serves as the Alternate Class B Cashier when required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.

1. Two years of college/university in any field is required.

2. Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in voucher examining, accounting, finance, auditing, or related financial work is required.

3. Level III (Good Working Knowledge) in writing/ speaking/ reading English and Spanish is required. (This will be tested.)

4. Incumbent must have basic financial and accounting skills and be well versed in Chilean payment procedures. Incumbent must have good working level knowledge of the Microsoft Office software with an emphasis on Excel. Must have extremely fine-tuned time management skills.

5. Ability to analyze financial records. Ability to provide budget and technical input to supervisors. Ability to manage a wide variety of administrative tasks and handle multiple schedules. Should be able to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external interlocutors with electronic and in person methodologies.
